Mercedes-Benz 190e EVO 2 DTM This is an outstanding example of a Mercedes-Benz 190e 2.5-16 EVO 2 DTM race car. It was imported in 1991 as an original Fricker Rallye (Group ‘A’) competition car. It partook in a WRC Acropolis and a couple of local street rallies. Following that it was converted to what it is today. Strengthened and seam-welded. “2.5 16 EVO” body kit (DTM). Group ‘A’ roll cage. Fully built 2.5 litre engine. Getrag dogleg gearbox, brand new 5.1 diff from MKB. This is a “no corners cut” fully homologated build. Full specs can be seen below: Shell: Recently painted in the original silver-arrow silver. Fully seam-welded and strengthened. 2.5 EVO body kit (DTM). Group ‘A’ roll cage. All windows and screen are glass. Suspension: Full Group ‘A’ spec suspension kit. Fully rose-jointed. Ohlins competition coilovers on the front, Ohlins ILX series on the rear. DTM adjustable anti-roll bars front & rear. Engine/Wiring: DTA 80S ECU. Race-spec wiring loom largely constructed from aerospace components. Full BB Speed Engineering engine rebuild, high performance pistons, performance steel conrods, performance valve springs and valves, race-spec camshaft. VIBRA-TECHNICS engine mounts. Large baffled sump. DTM header, bespoke stainless exhaust (78mm) with DTM style rear silencer. Gearbox: Getrag dog-leg gearbox (275/8.50 NR6) fully rebuilt by GR-BOX San Marino Engineering. Long 1st gear with AP racing clutch. New 5.1 DTM LSD by MKB. Reinforced gear shaft rods with adjustable ball-joints. Brakes: Front Brembo 8-pot. 360mm race-spec discs. Ferodo Racing DC2500 pads. Rear Brembo 4-pot. 280mm race-spec discs. Ferodo Racing DC2500 pads. Full stainless braided brake lines with all stainless steel fittings. AP front to rear bias system. Hydraulic handbrake. Interior: Homologated seat “Turn One”, 5-point harness “Turn One” (belts in date) and alcantara quick release steering wheel all by Oreca. Aim MXL dash. Fully plumbed-in fire extinguisher (available for install). Wheels: 5-stud, 18 inch 2-piece O.Z. racing lightweight wheels x12. 8.5 inch wide fronts, 10 inch wide rears. Slick Pirelli & Michelin tyres. To summarise, this is a significantly rare build and has had no corners cut. We believe it is a truly special piece of engineering which represents an era of racing many would love to return to.
